Battle of Lakhimpur Kheri reached Rashtrapati Bhavan, Congress delegation led by Rahul Gandhi will submit memorandum

A Congress delegation led by Rahul Gandhi has reached Rashtrapati Bhavan today to meet President Ram Nath Kovind in connection with the violence that erupted in Lakhimpur Kheri, Uttar Pradesh. Congress leaders allege that despite the Supreme Court’s strong remarks, proper action has not been taken against the Union Minister and his family in the case.

Let us inform that on last Sunday (October 03), eight people, including four farmers, were killed in the violence in Tikonia area of Lakhimpur Kheri district. It is alleged that Ashish Mishra, son of Union Minister of State for Home Ajay Mishra Teni, rammed a speeding Thar Mahindra vehicle from behind on the protesting farmers, in which four farmers were killed.

A total of eight people, including four others, lost their lives in the violence that broke out after this incident. The farmers have lodged an FIR in this case, in which besides the minister’s son Ashish Mishra, seven others are accused. After several days of hide and seek, Ashish Mishra had appeared in the Crime Branch office for questioning on Saturday (October 09). After this, the police arrested him for not cooperating in the investigation. The very next day, on Sunday (October 10), he was sent to judicial custody by the court.
