In view of the festive season, District Officer Dr. R Rajesh Kumar and Senior Superintendent of Police Janmejay Khanduri jointly organized Paltan Bazar, Chandannagar in the city today to maintain the traffic system in the markets and prevent encroachment and to ensure the implementation of the Kovid guidelines and to keep the traffic system smooth. During the inspection, the District Magistrate and the Senior Superintendent of Police first inspected the vegetable market located at number six culvert, besides the places marked by the vegetable vendors, goods were spread on the roads, due to which there was disruption in the traffic, which was removed and the shopkeepers were asked to repeat it. But a warning was given to revoke the license. After this, the District Magistrate and the Senior Superintendent of Police, while walking from Ghantaghar to the Lakhibagh police post via Paltan Bazar, removed the encroachment on the footpath in Paltan Bazar and while removing the vehicles parked outside the designated place, the vehicle owners were given the vehicles at the designated place. Also instructed to park. During this, shopkeepers and workers sitting without masks in shops, people roaming without masks on roads were asked to wear masks and police and district administration officers/personnel were asked to carry out regular campaigns against the violators of Kovid guidelines. instructed to take action accordingly. He directed the Police Officer, City and City Kotwal, while taking action on the vehicles parked here and there on the markets/roads, to make the markets encroachment-free and not to allow loaders and four wheelers to enter the markets during the restricted time.
District Magistrate Dr. R. Rajesh Kumar said that due to encroachment at various places in the markets, complaints were being received about the situation arising out of jam, in view of this, the inspection of the markets has been done today. He said that during this period, encroachment on footpaths has been found at many places in the markets, which was immediately removed from the concerned and warned of action if it is repeated. Similarly, at many places, shopkeepers and their workers were warned against selling goods by sitting in the shop without masks. He also directed the city Kotwal to put up barriers at the entry point of Paltan Bazar and inspect the market from time to time to stop the movement of four wheelers in Paltan Bazar.
During the inspection, Senior Superintendent of Police Janmejay Khanduri has asked the traders to put the goods at the designated place and small vendors standing at any place have been instructed to put the cart at the designated place, due to which there will be a situation of jam in the markets. So that the public does not have to face any kind of unnecessary trouble. He said that by inspecting the markets every morning and evening, instructions have been given to the Police Officer, City and City Kotwal to ensure smooth traffic arrangements.
During the inspection, Deputy District Magistrate Sadar Manish Kumar, Police Officer, Traffic City Shekhar Suyal, City Kotwal Ritesh Shah along with officials of Municipal Corporation, Revenue, Labor Department as well as officers of related departments were present.
