Prime Minister : Army is my family, salute to the courage of the lions of Nowshera
Like every year, this year also Prime Minister Narendra Modi is celebrating his Diwali with the security forces. The Prime Minister reached Nowshera sector of Rajouri district today. Here he spent about an hour with the soldiers and also fed them sweets.
Modi said, “I have come here not as the Prime Minister, but as your family. The feeling that you feel when you go to your family is the same. I have decided to celebrate every Diwali amongst you guys posted at the border. Took a pledge. Today I will go from here with new enthusiasm and new faith. This evening every citizen of India will light a lamp on Diwali in the name of your valor, bravery, sacrifice and penance.”
‘You are the living shield of Maa Bharati’
The Prime Minister said that the good fortune that you have got for the service of mother, I am seeing those strong expressions on your face. This is your resolve to be the culmination of might, be it the Himalayas, deep gorges, high peaks… there you are the living armor of Mother Bharati. There is a certainty in the country because of your strength. Because of your valor, our festivals are celebrated. After Diwali, I wish you all the best for Govardhan Puja and Chhath Puja.
‘Today self-reliance is coming in the field of defense’
Modi said that earlier the situation was that when needed, weapons were bought in haste. Today self-reliance is coming in the field of defense. India has decided that now more than 200 weapons, equipment will be bought within the country itself. Many more such efforts are being made. This will strengthen the defense sector. It shows the strength of India.
The Prime Minister said that we have to adapt our preparedness with the rapid changes taking place in the world. Earlier there were fights with elephants, horses, but today’s martial arts have changed a lot. The development of technology has brought a big change. In view of this, we have also made many new changes.
‘Women power being strengthened’
Modi said that women power is being strengthened further. After deployment on the front in Navy and Air Force, women power is also expanding in the Army. The doors of many military institutions have been opened for daughters. The daughters of the country are excited for their contribution in defence.
PM Modi said, “For you joining the army is not a job. It is a sadhana. You are doing the sadhna of Maa Bharati. We have to live for our native land. Our generous spirit makes us different from others.” India was immortal before. It is immortal even today and will be immortal even after thousands of years.”
festival of gaiety with soldiers
The Prime Minister has reached among the jawans to celebrate Diwali almost every year. A few years back he had said – the soldiers posted on our borders keep us safe and it is only because of them that we are able to celebrate the festival. PM reaches among the soldiers. Feed them sweets and inquire about their well being.
Modi has also celebrated Diwali with soldiers in Jammu and Kashmir, Uttarakhand and Rajasthan. Five years ago he had reached Chamoli district of Uttarakhand and celebrated Diwali with the Indian Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) stationed there. In 2017 he had reached Gurez Sector. In 2018 he had reached Uttarakhand.
