Gujarat becomes easy way for drug smuggling in India

After confiscating drugs worth crores of rupees from Mundra port in Kutch, Gujarat Police on Wednesday seized another huge consignment of narcotics, in which around 17 kg of narcotics worth over Rs 88 crore was seized. It is believed that this consignment was entered into the state by sea route.
Dwarka district superintendent of police Sunil Joshi said, “Right now we are investigating the matter and all I can say is that the Vadinar police of Dwarka district has seized around 14-15 kg of drugs and we have arrested one person. Drugs seem to have been brought into the state through sea, but we are probing the matter.”
Superintendent of Police Sunil Joshi said that the seizure included 6.168 kg of methamphetamine (MD drug) and 11.483 kg of heroin. The total value of the seized drugs is 88,25,50,000. Minister of State for Home Harsh Sanghvi will address the media after the weekly cabinet meeting on Wednesday regarding the matter.
It is worth noting that recently, drugs worth thousands of crores were seized at the Mundra Port of Kutch, operated by the company of industrialist Gautam Adani. The consignment of drugs was so huge that it was said to be enough to drive lakhs of people into the blind alley of the country. However, a lot of effort was made to suppress the matter. But the Congress continuously raised this issue and tried to surround the government.
