Shocking disclosure in Uttarakhand on corona delta variant, genome sequencing report

In Uttarakhand, 60 percent of the corona cases that came up during the last two months have been found in the delta variant. Whereas new mutations of corona virus have been found in forty percent of the patients. However, due to vaccination and conditions like herd immunity, transmission has been greatly reduced. In the last two months, around 400 samples from all the districts of the state were sent for genome sequencing to various labs of the country for examination by the Health Department.

Their report has now been received by the department. Department sources said that out of these 400 samples, 250 have been found infected with the delta variant believed to be responsible for the second wave of corona. Whereas in another 40 percent of the samples, infection with the common corona virus as well as the new mutation AY series of the virus has been found. It is known that mutations are happening very fast in the corona virus.

So far 39 changes have come to the fore of the AY series. However, these new mutations are very common and do not present a wave-like threat. Dr Pankaj Singh, senior expert to the nodal officer of the health department, says that the corona patients found in the state are of Delta and AY series and at present the infection situation is under control.

Extremely low transmission despite overcrowding on Diwali
Even after 15 days of Diwali, experts have heaved a sigh of relief as the infection situation in the state is under control. Many experts feared that the Diwali rush could once again increase the level of infection. But despite the crowd in the markets, the graph of infection has not changed much in 15 days. Due to this the Health Department has heaved a sigh of relief. Experts say that despite the crowd of people, the transmission of the virus was very limited, due to which the infection has not increased. Widespread vaccination and herd immunity are believed to be the main reasons for this.

11 new corona patients found
Not a single new corona patient was found in 11 districts of Uttarakhand on Saturday. While a total of 11 new patients were found in two districts. Eight patients recovered after treatment, who were discharged from home isolation and hospitals. According to the bulletin of the Health Department, eight new infected were found in the capital Dehradun on Saturday while three in Haridwar.

Apart from this, no case of corona infection has been reported in any district. Around nine thousand samples were sent from various labs of the state for examination, while reports of nine thousand were received. The rate of corona infection in the state was 0.11 percent. While the recovery rate of patients is going on more than 96 percent. After the discharge of eight patients from various hospitals of the state, now the number of active patients has come down to 187.

The maximum number of 132 active patients are in Dehradun district alone. On Saturday, around 42 thousand people were vaccinated for Kovid across the state. With this, the number of people taking both the doses has crossed 46 thousand.
