Uttarakhand / Almora : Vice Chancellor remains in office even after High Court order, NSUI sent memorandum to Governor

The National Students’ Union of India, under the leadership of State General Secretary Gopal Bhatt, through the District Administration Almora, sent a memorandum to His Excellency the Governor. Through the memorandum, the National Students’ Union of India says that the Hon’ble High Court of Uttarakhand, Nainital, on 10 November 2021, considering the appointment of the Vice Chancellor of Soban Singh Jeena University as against the rules, ordered his immediate removal from the post. The order of the Hon’ble High Court of Uttarakhand, Nainital has not been complied with even after a lapse of 13 days and the rules of the High Court are not being followed. Regarding which the NSUI leaders have requested the Governor to intervene from their level and the Governor should take action at the earliest and a new Vice-Chancellor should be appointed in the university.

The leaders of the National Students’ Union of India said that there should be a high-level inquiry into the appointments made in the university, if it is not done within a week, then the National Students’ Union of India will hold an indefinite strike in the entire state and gherao the university.

Student leaders like NSUI State General Secretary Gopal Bhatt, Govind Prasad, Pankaj Gururani, Chetan Pandey, Ajay Bisht, Manoj Bhatt, Chetan Bhatt were present among those who gave the memorandum on this occasion.
