This symptom of Omicron comes first, the same sign is visible in people who have got the vaccine

Due to Omicron, a big jump in corona cases is coming to the fore. However, apart from being less severe, there is a significant difference between the symptoms of Omicron and Delta. This is the reason why experts are repeatedly asking people to correctly identify the symptoms of Omicron so that it can be stopped from spreading. George Moreno, assistant professor at the Yale School of Medicine in the US, told Insider about several symptoms associated with Omicron.
Omicron’s special symptoms – Professor Jorge Moreno said, ‘By the end of December, I was seeing five patients of COVID-19 every day, but last week it seemed as if the corona had exploded. The Omicron variant is responsible behind this. Most patients experienced dryness and sore throat, causing severe pain in swallowing, before other symptoms of COVID-19 occurred. This is a major symptom.
Doctors in Norway, South Africa and the UK have similarly identified a sore throat or prickling as a typical symptom of Omicron. In a news briefing, Ryan Noch, CEO of Discovery Health, South Africa, said that Omicron patients usually first complain of a sore throat, followed by nasal congestion, dry cough and body aches. However, Professor Moreno says that a sore throat often goes hand in hand with sinus congestion and headache.
According to the Study- Zoe Kovid Symptom Study, sore throat was found to be the earliest and most common symptom in all Omicron patients. A Norwegian study found that 72% of infected people in an Omicron outbreak at a Christmas party had a sore throat that lasted for about three days. Most of the infected people had received both doses of the mRNA vaccine. Professor Moreno said, ‘Most of the patients who came to my clinic were vaccinated. This is the reason that the symptoms in them were very mild and lasted for a short time. For those who had taken a booster dose, it was like a common cold. After two days, he had returned to his regular routine.
These symptoms are first seen in vaccinated people- According to experts, people vaccinated in Delta infection also had a sore throat problem, but it is more in Omicron. Dr Andy Pecos, a virologist at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, says that Omicron has a distinct pattern of symptoms that differs from other variants. It does not have a taste and aroma like Delta. It is just a prick in the throat and even phlegm. Some experts say that before reaching the nose, Omicron infects the throat itself.
