Supreme Court refuses to postpone NEET-PG 2022 exam, exam will be held on May 21 only
The Supreme Court has today refused to postpone the NEET PG (NEET-PG 2022) examination, the examination of NEET PG will be held on its scheduled time i.e. 21 May 2022. The Supreme Court has dismissed the petition of doctors to postpone the examination of NEET-PG 2022. The Supreme Court said that postponing the exam will create chaos and uncertainty. Not only this, it will also affect patient care and create a bias for over 2 lakh students preparing for NEET PG.
The Supreme Court said on the petition to postpone the examination of NEET-PG 2022 that it will also lead to shortage of doctors in hospitals. This is a matter of government policy. Let us inform that the medical students had demanded the Supreme Court to postpone the NEET-PG 2022 examination due to not getting enough time to prepare for the NEET PG 2022 exam. It was said on behalf of the petitioners that the doctors have not got enough time to prepare. At the same time, the counseling of NEET-PG 2021 is still going on.
There is also a conflict between the counseling of NEET-PG 2021 and the examination of NEET-PG 2022. In such a situation, doctors willing to participate in NEET PG 2022 should be given some more time to prepare for the exam. At least four weeks time should be given to the doctors for this examination. The petitioners had demanded the court in the petition to direct the Center to allow the candidates who are participating in the NEET-PG counseling to register for the NEET-PG 2022 examination.
Meanwhile, the Indian Medical Association has written a letter to Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya requesting to postpone the proposed NEET-PG exam on 21 May 2022.
