Four wanted arrested in 1993 Bombay blast case, Gujarat ATS’s big action

There is big news in the investigation of Bombay 1993 serial blasts. Gujarat ATS has arrested four wanted accused in the case. Around 257 people were killed in the blasts on March 12, 1993. At the same time, 700 people were seriously injured. Underworld don Dawood Ibrahim and the Memon family were believed to be the masterminds of this incident.

Sources in Gujarat ATS have informed that the police have arrested Abu Bakr, Yusuf Bhakta, Shoaib Baba and Syed Qureshi. The police have also released the photographs of the four wanted men arrested. Sources said that the police have also arrested wanted Aaqif Nachan. Nachan is involved in the terrorist case of Rajasthan. The National Investigation Agency is probing the incident.

The Union Home Ministry had recently asked the Rajasthan Police to handle the case of the busted Terror Module. During that 7 accused were arrested. A case was registered against the accused under several sections of UAPA. The NIA will investigate the ties of this module with a potentially large organization, which may be planning major attacks in different parts of the country.

According to news agency ANI, Gujarat ATS Director General Deepan Bhadran informed, ‘We had detained four people on suspicion of fake passports. After detailed investigation, it was revealed that he was a wanted accused in the 1993 Bombay serial blasts. They have been arrested. The real names are Abu Bakr, Yusuf Bhatka, Shoaib Baba, Syed Qureshi.

The officer said that he had received training in weapons and IED in PoK. “They (recently) had come to India to get their passport changed, only then we got the input… traced them,” he said.
