Uttarakhand / Haldwani : Maps of commercial buildings passed on residential rates

The District Development Authority has been accused of accepting the maps of commercial buildings at residential rates to benefit the businessmen. Compounding of these buildings has also been done at residential rates. Commercial work is going on in these buildings. Considering the matter as a serious offence, the commissioner has been asked to submit a full report to the authority secretary in a week.

Kumaon Commissioner Deepak Rawat said that complaints have been received about passing maps of commercial buildings at residential rates and compounding of these commercial buildings at residential rates. He said that due to this, the government is expected to lose crores of rupees in revenue. He said that a complete report of the maps and compounding approved so far has been sought from the Secretary of the District Development Authority in a week. Action will be taken against whoever is found guilty in the case.

Mark illegal construction by visiting the area
Commissioner Rawat said that the District Development Authority Secretary and Joint Secretary have been asked to inspect their respective areas twice a week. If any illegal constructions are taking place in the area, instructions have been given to mark them and take action. The JE and AE of the authority will also have to check.

City magistrate sealed five illegal constructions
City magistrate Richa Singh on Friday sealed five illegal constructions and revived 315 pending cases. The city magistrate said that five illegal constructions were being done without the approval of the map. All of them were sealed on Friday. These include two construction works in Karkhana Bazar, one on Thandi road and two in Bhotia Padav area. He said that 315 cases related to the authority were lying dormant for a long time. He was not being heard. Today all those promises have been revived. Now all these cases will be heard regularly.
