Truth and Reality

The opposition was already defeated, now it is regretting to fight… BJP’s move demolished the opposition camp

The field is decorated, the arms of the opposing teams have blossomed, they are all united, they have all chosen a piece, yet there is no confidence of victory… Will fight with stamina… but what about this! The stampede on seeing the front, the race to run away from the hands, the fight to change the side of those whose arms were full of solidarity! On the political chessboard, BJP has made this strategy, which seems to be the script of the film, come true. The intention of the opposition to stand in full force in front of the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in the presidential election has been dashed. Now what is left is just protest against the show.

Opposition worried by BJP’s move
See the workmanship of BJP that Mamta Banerjee, who weaved the fabric of opposition unity and declared Yashwant Sinha as the joint presidential candidate of the opposition, was forced to speak in favor of NDA candidate Draupadi Murmu. It is not that Mamata is only worried about the BJP throwing dice, just look at former Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray – he too has had to announce his support to Draupadi Murmu. How surprising that Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren is running the government in the state with the support of Congress, but his party Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) will support the BJP-backed NDA candidate.

Understand the helplessness of Mamta Banerjee
First, TMC chief Mamata Banerjee. Fifth note of musical scale. The Chief Minister of Bengal keeps projecting herself as the front commander of an open front against the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the country’s politics. His most convincing voice is heard on every discussed issue of national importance. Whether it is about the political steps of the BJP or the policies of the central government, Mamta always speaks freely, opposes without hesitation, in a loud voice. When the opportunity of presidential election came, he took the flag of opposition to BJP and Modi in his familiar style. She came to Delhi and discussed the name of the common Presidential candidate of the opposition. In that meeting of June 15, 17 parties of the opposition gathered. Two days later, on June 17, when a meeting was held again, Mamta sent her nephew Abhishek Banerjee.

The names of many people sprang up, but the final consensus was on Yashwant Sinha. Think, now Mamta is so compelled that she made that Yashwant Sinha P. He refused to campaign in Bengal, who was selected as the opposition candidate under his leadership and who is from his own party. Mamta has also expressed her helplessness. He said that if the BJP had announced its presidential candidate earlier, a consensus could have been reached on it. Now they are compelled that Draupadi will not be able to support Murmu even if she wants. In such a situation, the question arises that what is the reason for this helplessness of Mamta?

Two big reasons for Mamta’s compulsion
Actually, there are two reasons. First- According to the 2011 census, tribals constitute six percent of the population in West Bengal. The major part of them is settled in Jungle Mahal and North Bengal. The important thing is that P. In Bengal, about 80% of the tribal population is from the Santhal caste, from which Draupadi Murmu comes. The tribals of the state supported the BJP in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. Second- Mamta always keeps shining her female friendly image. She herself said that she does not hesitate to show favoritism towards women.

Today, when a woman is getting a chance to reach the highest office for the second time in the country, how can anyone oppose her and claim to be a woman’s well-wisher. That’s why Mamta has tried to explain by making a public statement that she is with Draupadi Murmu from her heart, but will support Yashwant Sinha in compulsion. However, it cannot be denied that some of her MLAs and MPs may switch sides in the presidential election due to this view of Mamata. From above, BJP leaders Subhendu Adhikari and Sukanta Majumdar have increased the pressure on TMC MLAs and MPs by urging them to support Murmu through letters.

Uddhav Thackeray also had to support Murmu
The trouble of former Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray is even bigger. Uddhav, who was badly injured by the ambush of his close friend Eknath Shinde, fears that if Murmu does not support him, then the few remaining in his camp may deepen that wound. Of the 55 Shiv Sena MLAs, 39 have parted ways with Shinde. Now Uddhav has a big challenge to keep 19 MPs together. After the meeting of Shiv Sena MPs regarding the presidential election, Uddhav said that there is no pressure on him from the MPs. However, he also announced that his faction would also support Draupadi Murmu.

Imagine if Shiv Sena did not break, today Uddhav would have been standing in the front row of opponents because Mamta’s legs would have been stretched, her space would have become bigger. But BJP laid such a chessboard that Uddhav was not swallowed by Bane. Now that Uddhav has swallowed the bitter pill of supporting NDA candidate, the future of Shiv Sena’s Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) along with Congress-NCP has also been questioned. Uddhav Thackeray’s decision regarding the presidential election is being seen as a sign of showing white flag of ceasefire to BJP by his side. If the government is gone, if the MPs break, the Shiv Sena will also go for the claim. No other opposition party has such difficulty. The one who was roaring till yesterday, should be forced to do what happened in support today, what can be a bigger helplessness than this.

Will the public demand an account from Bhupesh Baghel in the Chhattisgarh assembly elections?
Draupadi Murmu is the double-edged sword of BJP, through which the opposition has been attacked twice. Those who supported, laid down their arms and those who are opposing, their lives are stuck in light of how the tribals will be able to consolidate the vote bank. Take the Congress party itself. Of the two states in which it has a government on its own, Chhattisgarh is included in the tribal majority states. There are going to be assembly elections next year. In such a situation, one can guess the difficulty that Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel must be going through. A tribal woman is ready to go to Rashtrapati Bhavan, but the attitude of the tribal-dominated state government is in the other direction. Think, how will Baghel be able to explain to his voters in the next assembly elections why his party did not support Draupadi Murmu. Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren, another tribal-dominated state of Bagale, has made the questions before Baghel more difficult. The apprehension that the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) will announce the support of Murmu will increase the difficulty of Baghel in Chhattisgarh, this apprehension cannot be denied outright.

The ‘real’ adversaries left to count
The tribal-dominated states are Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand, besides Tripura and Odisha. There is a BJP government in Tripura while Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik is not only openly supporting Draupadi Murmu but also inspiring others. Actually, Draupadi Murmu is the daughter of Odisha itself. Anyway, Naveen Patnaik’s Biju Janata Dal (BJD) has been supporting the Modi government in Parliament on big issues of national importance. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy’s party YSR Congress (YSRCP) has the same stance in Parliament as BJD. Due to this, Murmu can get his support in the presidential election as well. In such a situation, among those who raised the flag of protest, Telangana CM K. Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR), Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan are the few non-Congress leaders whose parties will vote against Murmu if they remain in power. In such a situation, it can be understood how the BJP has defeated the opposition by making Draupadi Murmu the NDA candidate for the post of President.
