Cross-voting fiercely in Presidential elections too, news of MLAs switching sides from UP to Assam

Voting is underway to elect the country’s next president. A total of 4800 elected MPs and MLAs are participating in this election. Meanwhile, there is news of fierce cross voting in the Presidential Election. The news of cross voting has come to the fore in many places. There is news of 20 Congress MLAs switching sides in this election in Assam. It is being said that more than 20 Congress MLAs have voted in favor of Draupadi Murmu.

The coronation of NDA’s tribal woman candidate Draupadi Murmu on the country’s biggest constitutional post is almost certain. He already has the support of 27 parties, while Yashwant Sinha has the support of 14 parties.

20 MLAs of Assam cross voting!

Assam’s AIUDF MLA Karim Uddin Barbhuiya has claimed that at least 20 Congress MLAs in the state have cast their votes in favor of NDA’s presidential candidate Draupadi Murmu. He further claimed that this is the same Congress MLA who had betrayed his candidate in the Rajya Sabha elections as well.

Congress denied the claims

On the other hand, the Congress has rejected the cross-voting of the MLAs of Assam. The Congress has denied AIUDF’s allegation that at least 20 Congress MLAs voted in favor of the NDA candidate. Congress MLAs said that AIUDF is not a credible party.

Congress MLA from Odisha cross-voted

Odisha Congress MLA Mohd Mokim claimed that he is a Congress MLA but voted in favor of NDA’s presidential candidate Draupadi Murmu. He has called it his personal decision. He says that he has listened to his heart which inspired me to do something for the earth and that is why I voted in support of Murmu.

SP MLA from UP changed sides

In Uttar Pradesh, a Samajwadi Party (SP) MLA has also done cross voting. Bhojipura MLA of Bareilly district Shahjeel Islam cross-voted in the presidential election. He cast his vote supporting NDA candidate Draupadi Murmu.

Congress and NCP MLAs changed sides in Gujarat too

Tribal MLA of Gujarat Congress has cast his vote in support of NDA’s presidential candidate Draupadi Murmu. There is a possibility of cross voting on 3 to 4 MLAs. Apart from this, Nationalist Congress MLA from Gujarat Kandhal S. Jadeja has also done cross voting. Kandhal S Jadeja claims that he has voted in favor of NDA’s presidential candidate Draupadi Murmu.

Akali MLA boycotted the election

In the presidential election, the anti-party tone of the Akali MLA was seen. Shiromani Akali Dal MLA Manpreet Singh Ayali did not vote for NDA’s presidential candidate Draupadi Murmu. While boycotting the election, Ayali said that despite the alliance with BJP, many issues of Punjab were not resolved. Akali Dal president Sukhbir Badal had supported Murmu but one of his three MLAs, Manpreet Ayali, did not listen to the party president, showing a rebellious tone.
