Former Mumbai Police Commissioner Sanjay Pandey arrested, ED action in NSE phone tapping case

ED has taken big action in NSE phone tapping case. After a long interrogation, former police commissioner Sanjay Pandey has been arrested. Yesterday also the ED had called him for questioning, the CBI had also done questions and answers. Now he has been arrested on Tuesday.

For information, let us tell you that from the year 2013 to 2016, Chitra Ramakrishna was the Managing Director of the National Stock Exchange. At that time, through a company of Sanjay Pandey, the matter of phone tap of NSE employees came to the fore. When the ED came to know about this tapping, they immediately informed the Ministry of Home Affairs and the CBI also swung into action in the matter. Now ED has arrested Sanjay Pandey in the same tapping case. Chitra Ramakrishna was also arrested a few days ago.

By the way, it has also been claimed that Sanjay Pandey’s company got Rs 4.45 crore for tapping. Talking about Sanjay Pandey’s career, he was holding the post of Managing Director of Maharashtra State Security Corporation before Mumbai Police Commissioner. In April 2021, the Uddhav Thackeray government gave him the charge of DGP of Maharashtra. However, after IPS Rajneesh Seth was appointed as the DGP of Maharashtra, the charge was withdrawn from him. The 1986 batch IPS officer was the 76th Police Commissioner of Mumbai Police. He took the responsibility of commissioner from IPS Hemant Nagarle. He just retired on 30th June last month.

It is also important to know here that Sanjay Pandey had resigned from the police service in 2001. After that he had formed an IT audit firm, then when his resignation was not accepted, he returned to the police service.
