Service extension to President’s Secretary KD Tripathi, cabinet seal on extension of 3 other officers

The Center on Tuesday extended the service of four senior Rashtrapati Bhavan officials by two months, including Secretary to the President Kapil Dev Tripathi, Joint Secretary Ajay Bhadoo and Press Secretary Ajay Kumar Singh. An order of the Personnel Ministry said that the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the extension of the tenure of these officers by two months beyond July 25, 2022, i.e. up to September 25, 2022 or till further orders.

President Ram Nath Kovind’s term ends on July 24. The officers who have been given extension include Tripathi, Bhadu, Singh and Jagannath Srinivasan. Tripathi is a 1980 batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the Assam-Meghalaya cadre. Bhadoo, a 1999 batch IAS officer of Gujarat cadre, is Joint Secretary to the President.

Singh serves as the Press Secretary to Kovind and Srinivasan, a 2002-batch Indian Postal Service officer, is the Officer on Special Duty (OSD) in the President’s Secretariat.
