Cross-voting fiercely for Draupadi Murmu, breaks in opposition from Rajasthan to Assam

NDA candidate Draupadi Murmu has got a big victory in the presidential election. He has got huge support from BJP ruled states like Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Karnataka, Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh. But the more important thing is that even in the states where the BJP is not in power, they have got huge support. States like Andhra Pradesh, Odisha are examples of this, where everyone from the fore to the opposition has voted for him. Apart from this, 17 MPs and 126 MLAs in the country voted in favor of Draupadi Murmu rising above the party line. Due to this, his victory became bigger than expected.

Talking about cross-voting of MLAs, maximum 22 MLAs in Assam have voted for Draupadi Murmu, irrespective of the party line. Apart from this, 19 MLAs in Madhya Pradesh, 16 in Maharashtra, 12 in Uttar Pradesh have voted in favor of Draupadi Murmu, whose party had announced the support of Yashwant Sinha. Not only this, even in the electoral state of Gujarat, 10 Congress MLAs separated from the party and supported Draupadi Murmu. This is a big setback for the Congress a few months before the elections. Apart from this, even though JMM had declared support in Jharkhand, 10 MLAs of Congress and other parties have also cross-voted.

Similarly, 6 MLAs in Bihar and 6 MLAs in the Congress-ruled state of Chhattisgarh have supported Draupadi Murmu by cross voting. It is believed that MLAs coming from tribal-dominated seats have supported Draupadi Murmu in Chhattisgarh. Ashok Gehlot was also not so successful in assimilating the Congress clan in Rajasthan. Here 5 MLAs have done cross voting. Apart from this, 4 Congress MLAs facing a split in Goa supported Draupadi Murmu only. In this way, Draupadi Murmu has got bumper support from many states of the country.

TMC MLA also broke in Bengal, 4K votes invalid

Not only this, during the presidential election voting, there were apprehensions of BJP MPs and MLAs in West Bengal supporting Yashwant Sinha by cross-voting. But on the contrary, a TMC MLA has supported Draupadi Murmu. On this BJP has attacked Mamta Banerjee. The BJP said the cross-voting was proof that the TMC MLAs were not happy with the leadership. Leader of Opposition in Bengal Shubhendu Adhikari tweeted, ‘As I said all 70 BJP MLAs have supported Draupadi Murmu. Apart from this, a TMC MLA has also voted for him. Not only this, 4 TMC MLAs got their vote invalid.
