PFI, Twitter account also banned in preparation to knock on Supreme Court’s door

Action has also been taken against Popular Front of India on social media. It is reported that the organization’s account has been banned from the microblogging platform Twitter. It is reported that now the PFI is also preparing to go to the Supreme Court against the continuous action. On Wednesday, the government had imposed a five-year ban on the PFI and its affiliates.

The Twitter account of PFI has been banned. It is reported that Twitter India has taken this action based on the complaint of the Union Home Ministry. At present, people associated with the organization are now looking for legal avenues. This is the fourth crackdown on the Islamic fundamentalist organization in 7 days. After guerilla action in about 13 states, the government on Wednesday banned the organization for 5 years.

The Government has declared ‘Unlawful Organizations’ under the provisions of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967 including Rehab India Foundation (RIF), Campus Front of India (CFI), All India Imam Council (AIIC), National Confederation of Human Rights Organization (NCHRO), National Women’s Front, Junior Front, Empower India Foundation and Rehab Foundation, Kerala.

Delhi Police is on alert mode after the action of ban on PFI. Police activities have increased in different areas of the capital to maintain law and order. After the raid in many states, the investigating agencies along with the police arrested hundreds of people.
