Justice Chandrachud’s bench broke all the records in the Supreme Court, hearing 75 cases in 10.40 hours

The Supreme Court bench of the country’s future Chief Justice Justice DY Chandrachud and Justice Hima Kohli broke all records on Friday. The bench heard the matter till around 9.15 pm. About 75 cases were heard. On normal days, the judicial proceedings end from 4 to 5 pm, while the bench of Justice DY Chandrachud and Justice Hima Kohli heard till 9:10 pm just before Durga Puja Vijayadashami holidays.

After the hearing of the case was over, Justice DY Chandrachud also thanked all the staff. On Friday, this bench heard the cases for ten hours and 40 minutes. Friday was the last working day before the Dussehra holidays. The postponement of the trial meant a long wait. The last time on August 16 last month, a bench headed by Justice Chandrachud heard the matter till 7.45 pm.

In July this year, the current Chief Justice UU Lalit started hearing the cases listed in his court on an experimental basis at 9.30 am. He said that when the children can get ready and go to school at 7 in the morning, then why can’t we come to the court early.
