SP patron Mulayam Singh Yadav passed away after a long illness

Former Uttar Pradesh CM and Samajwadi Party founder Mulayam Singh Yadav passed away at Medanta Hospital in Gurugram on Monday. He was admitted to the ICU on October 1 as his health deteriorated. After the demise of Mulayam Singh, a wave of mourning has engulfed the Samajwadi family. Akhilesh Yadav, brother Shivpal Yadav and daughter-in-law Aparna Yadav had left for Delhi on the advice of his ill health. Let it be known that his wife Sadhana Gupta also passed away three months ago.

Born in Saifai in 1939

Mulayam Singh Yadav, who has been active in politics for more than 55 years, was born on 22 November 1939 in Saifai of Etawah district. He studied MA in Political Science. He was first elected MLA from Jaswant Nagar in UP in 1967 and reached the Legislative Assembly and never looked back in his political career. He was elected as an MLA eight times and became a Lok Sabha MP after being elected seven times. In 1996, he also got the chance to become Defense Minister in the United Front coalition government.

Mulayam Singh Yadav’s political career has been very illustrious. In 1977, he became the first minister of UP from the Janata Party, while in 1989, he became the first CM of UP. After this, in 1993 and again in 2003, he held the post of CM for the second and third time. Mulayam Singh founded the Samajwadi Party in 1992 and formed the government in 1993 with the BSP. After his son Akhilesh Yadav was elected president of the Samajwadi Party, he was acting as its patron. Mulayam Singh Yadav was currently representing Mainpuri seat in Lok Sabha.
