Gujarat will go to polls in two phases

Let us inform that in Gujarat, voting for the assembly elections will be held in two phases on December 1 and 5, while the counting of votes will be done on December 8 along with Himachal Pradesh. Voting will be held on 89 assembly seats in the first phase on December 1 and 93 assembly seats in the second phase on December 5. The last date for filing nominations in the first phase is November 14. At the same time, the last date for filing nominations in the second phase will be November 17.

Know that there are a total of 4,90,89,765 voters in Gujarat. These include male voters 2,53,36,610 and 2,37,51,738 female voters. According to the information, the term of the 182-member Gujarat Assembly ends on February 18 next year.

Earlier, the commission had not announced the Gujarat election schedule along with the Himachal Pradesh election dates. The commission had on October 14 announced the election schedule for the Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly, which would be held in a single phase on November 12 and counting would be held on December 8 in both the states. It is worth noting that the last time in 2017 assembly elections were held in Gujarat in two phases. After the elections, BJP formed the government there.
