Five new mini cities to be built in Uttarakhand, Pushkar Singh Dhami formed task force

The government is going to develop five new townships i.e. mini cities in five major cities of the state. This decision has been taken in view of the increasing population pressure due to increasing economic activities in the present cities. These cities will be developed on the lines of Mohali City of Chandigarh. In these, special places will be reserved for residential areas as well as for IT companies and other employable institutions.

Task force set up

According to CM Pushkar Singh Dhami, a task force of experts has been constituted to take this plan on the ground. These experts will study the proposals coming district wise and give suggestions for the development of the township. The government has set a target to develop these five cities within five years. Proposals for townships have been sought from district wise officers. The most suitable location will be selected after studying these proposals.

Industrial and business activities have increased in recent years. Opportunities have also increased significantly in various sectors including IT, Pharma. In view of this the need is felt for areas full of necessary infrastructure and resources. Experiments for developing new townships have already been conducted in some states and have been quite successful.

Mohali formula is effective

Mohali was settled there 19 km away due to increasing population pressure on Chandigarh. Today Mohali has taken the form of a magnificent city. It was developed by dividing it into sectors on the lines of Chandigarh. At present there are more than 100 sectors. Mohali is known for its international stadium as well as the IT sector.
