Himachal Pradesh : Waiting for Priyanka Gandhi, Sitharaman arrived… took selfie with Congress women’s team

An interesting sight was seen on the last day of the aggressive campaign for the Himachal Pradesh Assembly elections. Showing goodwill, Congress women workers took a selfie with Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Thursday. Sitharaman had come to the state capital to campaign for BJP candidates. The BJP is trying to retain power in the elections to be held on November 12. Congress women workers were waiting for party leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra when they saw the Union Finance Minister’s convoy passing through Mall Road near Shimla Club. Vadra was to take part in a public relations campaign on Mall Road in the afternoon.

BJP’s media in-charge Karan Nanda, who was accompanying Sitharaman, said, “When the Finance Minister saw Congress workers waving their hands, they stopped their convoy. She got down from her vehicle and met him. They (Congress workers) took selfies with the Finance Minister. According to sources, when the Mahila Congress chief called party supporters wearing Congress patkas, she ignored her leader and said that Sitharaman has made women proud and wants to take selfies with them.

Priyanka targets PM Modi

Here, Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Thursday, the last day of campaigning in Himachal Pradesh, asserted her promise of restoration of the old pension scheme (OPS) and said that it is not a jumla which cannot be fulfilled. In an indirect attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he said that everyone knows who gave stable governments after independence and who has brought down the governments by buying MLAs. He addressed a large gathering in Sirmaur on the last day of campaigning for the Himachal Pradesh Assembly elections and also greeted the people.

The Congress leader called upon the people to vote wisely and not be misled by anyone’s words. The election campaign in Himachal Pradesh ended at 5 pm on Thursday. Without naming the Prime Minister, Priyanka Gandhi said, the big leaders of BJP said that Congress cannot give you a stable government. Who gave stable governments after independence and who created instability? Who are the ones to bring down the governments by buying MLAs with money?

It is noteworthy that Prime Minister Modi had said in an election meeting in the state on Wednesday that the Congress cannot give a stable government. He had said that if Congress forms the government in the state, it will only hinder development.
