Customs officials on Sunday arrested four people at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport and seized around 61 kg of gold worth over Rs 32 crore. It is being told that the said gold was recovered from four different people. According to sources, the four accused were coming from Doha, the capital of Qatar.

According to customs officials, the accused were handed over to the police. According to sources, the police further said that the accused had no previous criminal record. During interrogation, the accused revealed that they were working for an international gold dealer operating from India. They were dealing mainly with smugglers of African descent.
Custom officials have also got clues about the involvement of India’s biggest gold smuggler in this racket. Raids are being conducted to expose the racket.
