Uttar Pradesh : Azam Khan shed tears, said – ‘The right to vote is over, now I have to be expelled from the country’
By-elections are to be held on one Lok Sabha and two assembly seats in Uttar Pradesh. For the Lok Sabha, where the Mainpuri seat will go to polls on December 5, Khatauli in Muzaffarnagar district and Sadar assembly seats in Rampur district will also go to polls on December 5 only. SP has made Asim Raja its candidate from Rampur Sadar. Azam Khan, former MLA from this seat, is campaigning loudly in support of Asim Raja. Also appealing to the people to make Asim win. Meanwhile, on Sunday last, Azam Khan addressed the public meeting for the first time in the by-election. Azam Khan became emotional during his speech. Tears welled up from his eyes. Azam Khan said with an emotional heart that even my right to vote has ended. Now the only thing that remains is to get me out of the country. Soon that too will be done.
SP workers are being threatened
Azam Khan alleged that the BJP government is using police and district administration officials to threaten SP workers who are campaigning for the by-election in Sadar seat. Azam Khan said that Akhilesh Yadav, Jayant Chaudhary and Chandrashekhar Azad (Azad Party) are going to come here to campaign for the by-elections, but the question is why are they coming here, when elections are not being held here.
I will complain to Akhilesh Yadav
Azam Khan said that when Akhilesh Yadav will come here, I will ask him to request the Election Commission to declare the BJP candidate the winner. He also alleged that SP workers are being threatened and tortured by the police and district administration. Azam Khan said that the police broke the doors of 50 houses and picked up innocent people from the road. He did not even spare my wife who is a former MP and used unparliamentary language for her. Azam Khan alleged that apart from others, his wife Tanzin Fatima has also been warned not to leave the house.
It is my right to ask for votes for party candidate- Azam
Azam Khan said that it is my right to ask for votes for the candidate of my party. He has video footage of police atrocities, which he will not share with the media, as the court will not consider it as evidence if he does so. The by-election will be held on December 5. In fact, Azam Khan’s assembly membership was canceled after he was sentenced to three years in the 2019 hate speech case and he was barred from contesting elections and now he will not be able to exercise his franchise.
