A surprising case has come to light from Bokaro in Jharkhand. The real identity of a 50-year-old man named Aslam Khan, who had come here posing as a Hindu to marry a minor girl, came to the fore before sitting on the mandap after being garlanded. After which the people present in the marriage thrashed him fiercely. Preparations were being made to hand him over to the police, but he ran away from his Scorpio. The incident took place at Kumhartoli under Harla police station area in Sector-9 of Bokaro city. The accused Aslam Khan is said to be a resident of Wasseypur in Dhanbad. His age is around 50 years. The girl’s father, Raju Kasera, has told the police that by running a shop on a handcart, he somehow maintains the family of seven members. He had deposited one lakh rupees for his daughter’s marriage.
Six months ago, his wife fell prey to a cyber thug and one lakh rupees were withdrawn from her account. To overcome this blow, his wife and daughter went to the bank to take a loan. There he was introduced to a person. He told his name as Sanjay Kasera and started coming to his house in the name of helping him get the loan. After a few days he started coming to their house in police uniform.
He told that he is a police officer and is posted in Latehar district. Then he tricked his daughter by promising her a better future and persuaded her to marry him by various pressures and threats. According to Raju Kasera, due to weak financial condition and pressure-threat, he agreed to get his daughter married. As per the schedule, the wedding was to take place last Wednesday night. He came with some people. The ceremony of garlanding also took place.
Meanwhile, Nehal, a laborer who made the wedding pandal, told her and the family that he knew the groom. He is not Sanjay Kasera, he is Aslam Khan. He also told that a year ago he was in jail in a case, when Aslam was also lodged there. As soon as the poll was revealed, there was an uproar in the marriage ceremony. On getting information about this, people of Hinduist organization Bajrang Dal also reached the spot. The local people cursed him fiercely.
Some people even thrashed him, but before he could be handed over to the police, he fled on a Scorpio. The people who came with him also slipped away. However, the police also seized an Alto car of Aslam Khan, police uniform and a weapon from his bag from the spot. An FIR has been registered on the complaint of the relatives. District head of Bajrang Dal Bajrang Pandey has demanded action against the accused, calling it a case of love jihad.
Preliminary investigation by the police has revealed that Aslam has a criminal record. Last year in May 2021, the police of Chas police station sent an arrested person to jail on charges of extorting money by cheating. He has also been lodged in Chatra, Ranchi and Jamtara jails in several other cases. It has also been learned that earlier also he had married a tribal woman by tricking her.
