Fog from mountain to plain in Uttarakhand…Holiday in schools

Let us tell you that the Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for cold wave in Udham Singh Nagar and Haridwar for the next 48 hours. According to Bikram Singh, director of the Meteorological Center, Udham Singh Nagar and Haridwar districts will be covered with fog along with severe cold.

Due to severe cold, In-charge District Magistrate and Chief Development Officer Prateek Jain has declared holiday on Wednesday and Thursday in all government and non-government schools, Anganwadi and Mini Anganwadi centers from class one to 12.

On the other hand, due to cold in Munsiyari of Pithoragarh, Vyas and Darma valleys of Dharchula, water has started freezing in the taps and springs. The minimum temperature was -3 in Munsiyari and five degrees Celsius in Bageshwar. In Haldwani, it happened in the lap of fog on Wednesday morning itself.

In Munsiyari of Pithoragarh district, the night temperature is reaching minus three degrees. It is sunny in Champawat and Nainital. The minimum temperature here is 14°C while it is 8°C in Sarovarnagari. Normal life has been thrown out of gear due to continuous cold wave and melting in Terai for two days.
