Uttarakhand: CM Dhami participated in the swearing-in ceremony of the newly elected executive of Uttaranchal Press Club, Director General Information Banshidhar Tiwari was also present

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami participated in the swearing-in ceremony of newly elected executive body of Uttaranchal Press Club at Parade Ground, Dehradun on Saturday. On this occasion, he administered the oath to the Uttaranchal Press Club executive. The Chief Minister said that action will be taken at a higher level by Director General Information Banshidhar Tiwari so that the building construction, guest house and library construction work of Uttaranchal Press Club can start soon. A committee will be formed in connection with giving permanent recognition for life to the journalists of the state who were active during the Uttarakhand statehood movement. Work will also be done in the direction of making U health cards for journalists.

The Chief Minister said that journalism is called the fourth pillar of democracy. He said that journalists have an important role as the mirror of the society. Along with social, political, economic and other aspects, the work of bringing forward the problems of common people through their writing is done by journalists. He said that efforts have been made by the state government to provide all possible cooperation to the journalists. Last year, it was announced to increase the pension of journalists by 60 percent, on the other hand, it was also announced to help journalists coming from different districts to stay in the state capital through the Information Department as before. . Under the Chief Minister’s Journalist Pension Scheme, an increase of Rs 2 crore has been made in the Journalist Welfare Fund, due to which an assistance amount of Rs 36 lakh has been approved for dependent journalists and seriously ill journalists.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that the media plays an important role in taking the schemes of the government to the general public. He said that in times of great crisis, journalists work shoulder to shoulder with the government and the public like brave soldiers. Media also plays an important role in making us aware of some unknown aspects. He said that the state government is trying to make Uttarakhand the leading state of the country by 2025. With the cooperation of all the people of Uttarakhand, Uttarakhand will be made the best state. Media will also play an important role in the overall development of the state. All journalists will have to contribute to the development of the state with the power of their pen.
