Uttarakhand: CS said in the meeting of Center for Public Policy and Good Governance – “Run training program for IIT and IIM officers”

The 5th Executive Committee meeting of the Center for Public Policy and Good Governance was held at the Secretariat under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Dr. SS Sandhu. During this, the Chief Secretary instructed the officers that weekly monitoring should be done to achieve the goal of sustainable development. The Chief Secretary said that in order to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals, we have to focus on integrated development with mutual harmony.

Big institutes like IIT and IIM should run training program

He said that continuous cooperation with various educational institutions is needed for the development of the state. The Chief Secretary asked IIM Kashipur to conduct various training programs for the officers and employees of the state. He said that in the same way, IIT Roorkee and Pantnagar Agricultural University can provide different types of training etc. for the development of the state in their respective fields. For this, the planning department and the institute should prepare a plan together.

End communication gap

The Chief Secretary said that there are many such works which the state government and educational institutions are trying to do in the public interest, but these works are getting obstructed due to lack of mutual communication. Quarterly meeting should be organized by forming a committee of various educational institutions. Research fellowship programs should be conducted for state-specific researches. He said that in order to understand the problems of the state and find a solution, the concerned institution should be given the task of finding an innovative solution to the problem. Representatives of various educational institutions including Additional Chief Secretary Radha Raturi, Secretary Meenakshi Sundaram, Additional Secretary Planning Rohit Meena were present on the occasion.
