Check whether your PAN card is linked with AADHAAR card or not? this is the way

The Government of India has made Aadhaar card mandatory along with PAN card for availing some services including filing income tax returns. According to the official notification, the last date to link Aadhaar with PAN card was March 31, 2022 but it has been further extended to March 31, 2023. However, a minimum penalty fee has also been imposed along with it.

Aadhaar and PAN link penalty fee

If Aadhaar was linked with PAN between April 1, 2022 and June 30, 2022, then people had to pay Rs 500 as fine. However, if someone is still missing out on linking Aadhaar with PAN last year, they can do it between July 1, 2022, and March 31, 2023, but will have to pay a fine of Rs 1,000.

So if you have not linked your Aadhaar card with your PAN card, do it before March 31. If you fail to do so, your PAN card may become inoperative, which will prevent you from filing your income tax return. You can check the step-by-step process given here to link your Aadhaar with PAN.
