The Waqf mosque should be removed from the High Court!… It was told in the Supreme Court that there is an attempt to take possession

The matter of removal of the Waqf Mosque in the Allahabad High Court premises has now reached the Supreme Court. Postponing the hearing of this matter in the Supreme Court on Friday, the date of the next hearing has been fixed on March 13. While fixing the date of hearing, the Supreme Court has said that the hearing of this case will not be postponed this time on any grounds. In fact, the Supreme Court is hearing a petition challenging the 2018 decision by the Allahabad High Court to remove a mosque named Waqf Masjid High Court from its premises.

Explain that the Allahabad High Court had said in its 2018 order that no part of the High Court premises would be allowed to be used for any religious activity. During the hearing, the Supreme Court was told that “this is a case of encroachment. In the past, the defendants have lost cases in the Supreme Court. 3 lessees were directed to hand over the possession. After this, a Waqf was made to save the mosque and got it registered. These people have again approached the Supreme Court. There was no mosque there at all.

Supreme asked was there no mosque?

The High Court lawyer said, ‘No, there was a tin shed. Later it was registered. The lawyer appearing on behalf of the mosque said, the mosque is from the year 81. The High Court’s counsel said, the lease was registered in ’96 and renewed in ’98, no mention of the mosque. There was no mention of the mosque when the trial first took place.

The lawyer appearing for the Allahabad High Court said that the decision had come in our favor. We have been waiting for a decade after the final decision of the Supreme Court. Additional Advocate General said that we are in dire need of this building. Supreme Court Justice Shah quipped and said that anyway good work is done only after burning of Samvat i.e. after Holi.
