Congress shines in the by-elections! BJP alliance returns in Tripura, Nagaland, hung assembly in Meghalaya

Congress may have faced a bad defeat in all the three electoral states of the Northeast, but the results of the by-elections have once again worked to revive the party. The Congress has suffered major defeats in the northeastern states of Tripura, Meghalaya and Nagaland. In all the three states, the Congress has been reduced to single digit seats this time. However, in the by-elections in Maharashtra, Bengal and Tamil Nadu, the Congress registered record victories.
BJP’s stronghold in Maharashtra snatched from 27 years
The Congress registered a record win from the Kasba Peth seat in Maharashtra. The BJP was ruling this seat for the last 27 years. Ravindra Dhangekar of INC has defeated Hemant Rasane of BJP in Kasba Peth seat. The BJP has lost elections on this seat after 1995. With this victory, Mahavikas Aghadi has got a new lifeline in Maharashtra.
Congress also won in Tamil Nadu
The Congress has won the Erode East seat in Tamil Nadu. INC candidate EVKS Elangovan has defeated AIADMK’s KS Thennarasru in the election. Congress and DMK alliance contested this seat, which has also shown its benefits.
Account opened in West Bengal after one and a half years
The Congress has won the Sagardighi assembly seat in the West Bengal bypolls. Elections were held on this seat after the death of TMC leader Subrata Saha. Congress’s Byron Biswas has defeated TMC leader Debasish Banerjee here and has been able to win the matter for almost one and a half years.
BJP alliance returns in Tripura, Nagaland, hung assembly in Meghalaya
The Bharatiya Janata Party and its allies (IPFT and NDPP) may return to power in Tripura and Nagaland. Whereas, in Meghalaya BJP is leading on 3 seats. If BJP has to share power like last time, it will have to join hands with NPP.
BJP alliance power in Tripura fixed
The BJP has so far won 13 seats in Tripura and is leading in 20 seats, according to trends released by the Election Commission till 2:30 pm. On the other hand, its ally IPFT has won 1 seat so far.
On the other hand, CPI(M) has so far won 1 seat and is leading in 10 seats. Chief Minister Manik Saha defeated Ashish Kumar Saha of INC from Town Bordovali seat by a margin of 1 thousand 257 votes.
BJP coalition government again in Nagaland
In Nagaland too, the BJP alliance is on the way to victory. According to the latest trends of the Election Commission, BJP has won 6 seats, while it is leading in 6 seats. At the same time, its ally NDPP has won 12 seats. And it is leading in 12 seats. While JDU is leading in 1 seat, NCP has registered 2 seats and is leading in 5.
Hung assembly likely in Meghalaya
In Meghalaya, the ruling NPP has won 6 seats and is leading in 19 seats. While BJP is leading on 3 seats. Whereas TMC has so far won 1 seat and is leading in 4 seats. While Congress has so far won 3 seats and is leading in 2 seats.
