The graph of road accidents in Uttarakhand is continuously increasing. State Road Safety Advisory Council has been constituted in Uttarakhand following the directions of the Supreme Court. In this series, a meeting was called in the secretariat under the chairmanship of State Road Safety Council Chairman Chandan Ramdas. Along with the preparations for the upcoming Chardham Yatra, the road map of all the works was decided in the meeting. Especially the issue of jam has been important in the meeting. Whose solution was discussed. Let us inform that the last meeting of the State Road Safety Council was held on 24 May 2022. According to the State Road Safety Council, there were 1674 road accidents in the year 2022. In which 1042 people lost their lives and 1613 people were also injured. In such a situation, important decisions have been taken in the Road Safety Council to make Uttarakhand road accident free. In which mainly all the roads of the state will not only be pothole free, but it has also been decided to prepare an action plan regarding black spots, accident prone sites, road marking, signage, crash barriers, road safety audit as well as speed controlling etc. Is.
At the same time, Transport Minister and State Road Safety Council Chairman Chandan Ramdas instructed the officials that the safety of the people is our priority. In view of the Chardham Yatra, along with repairing all the roads, complete the arrangements related to preventing accidents in the marked black spots and accident prone areas. He said that there is a need to pay special attention to the Joshimath area, so that there is no hindrance in the pilgrimage to Badrinath and Hemkund Sahib.
Transport Minister Chandan Ramdas said that in view of the Chardham Yatra starting in April and to review the work of the Council this year, a meeting of the State Road Safety Council has been held. In the meeting, along with marking of black spots, installation of dividers in the roads, instructions have been given to make all the routes of Chardham pothole free. Apart from this, all the working organizations related to the roads have been instructed to organize their roads before the Chardham Yatra. Therefore, this time the visit to Chardham in Uttarakhand will be historic.
At the same time, Chandan Ramdas told that jam is also a serious problem. Because, there is a situation of jam during the Chardham Yatra. Due to which many problems increase. Therefore, in view of this, instructions have been given to the police administration including the IG of Garhwal and Kumaon to control the jam district-wise. In this regard, the State Road Safety Council is preparing a roadmap. It will be brought down to the ground before the Chardham Yatra begins. So that the situation of jam does not arise during the journey. Even if there is a jam, then the jam situation should be ended immediately.
