Uttarakhand: CM Dhami celebrated Phooldei festival with children, tasted hill food in Anna Bhoj

The beauty of Phooldei, a very special folk festival of the hill state of Uttarakhand, is visible everywhere. Today CM Pushkar Singh Dhami also celebrated this festival with small children. At Chief Minister’s residence in Bharadisain, children dressed in colorful beautiful clothes showered flowers on CM Dhami with traditional Mangal songs. During this, CM Dhami wished the children. On the other hand, the CM relished the hill cuisine at the food feast organized in Bharadisain. CM Dhami said that folk festivals play an important role in identifying the culture and traditions of any state. Got a chance to celebrate Phooldei festival with the children during the assembly session. We have to make continuous efforts towards taking forward our folk festivals and folk traditions. The state government is taking several steps in this direction.

Pushkar Dhami said that in order to keep the children connected with their folk culture and folk traditions, the folk festival Fuldei will be celebrated every year in an institutional manner as a children’s festival. Folk festival ‘Fuldei’ celebrated in Devbhoomi Uttarakhand highlights our culture. Along with this, this festival is maintaining the traditions of the mountain. On this occasion, small children went to people’s homes and said ‘Phuldei Chamma Dei, Daini Dwar Bhar Bhakar’. It means that this Dehri (threshold) should be decorated with flowers, the house should be full of happiness. May everyone be protected. The food stores should always be full. In Uttarakhand, Phooldei is also celebrated as Phool Sankranti. On this day the threshold of the houses is decorated with flowers. Auspicious wishes are made by saying ‘Phuldei Chamma Dei’ while doing Tilak on the door frame of the temple and the house.

On the other hand, during the Gairsain assembly session today, a food (millet) feast was organized by the Agriculture Department at Bharadisain. During this, CM Pushkar Singh Dhami also enjoyed the mountain cuisine amidst Mangal Geet. Various hill dishes were served in the Anna Bhoj organized by the Agriculture Department. In which Gait’s Phanu, red rice, Kode’s roti, Arsa, Jhangore’s kheer and potato pieces were made. Pushkar Dhami, Vidhansabha Speaker Ritu Khanduri, Finance Minister Premchand Aggarwal, Agriculture Minister Ganesh Joshi enjoyed all the dishes at the same table in this Anna Bhoj. Apart from this, MLAs, officials, employees and people from the media also participated in this food feast.
