Uttarakhand / Haldwani: Police found liquor stock in the house

By calling on Dial 112, a person complained about English liquor being sold illegally. Seeing the police and administration team that reached the information, the three accused living on rent locked the house and fled. The team broke the lock of the house and recovered about 12 boxes of English liquor from there. Police has started investigation by registering a report against the three absconding tenants.

A person from Subhash Nagar of Bhotia Padav Chowki area called Dial 112 and informed that liquor is being sold illegally in the house of a resident of Subhash Nagar. On this, SSI Mahendra Prasad Kotwali reached the spot with the police team. Along with this, City Magistrate Richa Singh also reached with the team.

When informed in the presence of police and administrative officials, it was found that the landlord was in Delhi due to personal work while the tenants in the house were Rajat Rawat, Manish Matiani and Firoz Gava who fled on seeing the police.

The team searched the house by breaking the lock where 37 bottles, 90 half bottles and 304 quarts of English liquor kept for sale illegally were recovered from two rooms. Police sealed the liquor and started searching for the accused. According to the police, after the return of the landlord, a notice will be sent, in response to which the landlord will have to show the documents related to the verification of the tenants.
