Uttarakhand: Home Secretary held a review meeting regarding the visit to Kedarnath Dham, took stock of the CCTV control room

Secretary Home Dilip Jawalkar reviewed the preparations with District Magistrate Saurabh Gaharwar and Superintendent of Police Visakha Ashok Bhadane on Monday regarding the arrangements being made by the district administration and police administration for the smooth and well-organized conduct of the Kedarnath Dham Yatra.

In the review meeting held in the district office, the Secretary Home instructed the District Magistrate that proper arrangements should be made to ensure that all the basic facilities are available to the pilgrims so that the pilgrims do not have to face any kind of problem. He said that proper arrangements should be ensured for all the pilgrims to visit Kedarnath Dham.

Yatra should be managed before Sonprayag and Guptkashi
Home Secretary Dilip Jawalkar said that proper management should be done with security forces in sensitive areas and sliding zones of the yatra route. So that the pilgrims do not have to face any inconvenience. He also gave instructions to tighten the traffic system. The Home Secretary said that in view of the huge number of pilgrims, the journey should be managed well in advance from Sonprayag and Guptkashi so that there is no jam-like situation on the journey route.

Kedarnath is the main pilgrimage of Uttarakhand: Home Secretary
Secretary Home said that the journey to Kedarnath Dham is the main journey of Uttarakhand. On the occasion of opening of doors, there is a large number of devotees. There is a huge increase in the number of pilgrims reaching the Dham in the next one to two weeks after the doors open and in the last days of the week. If seen this way, about 70-75 percent of the journey is completed in the first one and a half month. In view of this, he expressed the need for more preparations at the administrative level.

Directed to improve systems
Home Secretary Dilip Jawalkar said that adverse weather conditions from travel point of view require more attention from the government level. He said that better arrangements have been made by the district administration for smooth travel on other normal days. Communication in the district has been updated a lot. Along with this, other arrangements have also been improved.

CCTV control room inspected
Secretary Home also inspected the office of the Superintendent of Police and took stock of the CCTV control room prepared for travel arrangements and management. He instructed the Superintendent of Police to ensure proper management of security arrangements from the Yatra route to Kedarnath Dham. The devotees reaching the Dham should be given darshan with ease.

Seven new parking lots have been prepared
District Magistrate Saurabh Gaharwar informed that 7 sectors have been made for Kedarnath Yatra from Sirobgarh to Sonprayag. The Gaurikund to Kedarnath track route is divided into 7 sectors. In which personnel have been deployed. To strengthen the traffic system, apart from Sitapur and Sonprayag parking, 7 new parking have been prepared.

Adequate security forces have been deployed along the yatra route. Along with this, better health arrangements have also been ensured. The District Magistrate also said that in case the parking is full in other parking places including Sonprayag and Sitapur, the traffic of pilgrims should be arranged in Haridwar and Rishikesh only.

65 CCTV cameras installed to manage travel
Superintendent of Police Visakha Ashok Bhadane said that there are five police stations located in the district. Adequate security forces have been deployed on the Kedarnath Yatra route. To conduct the Kedarnath Yatra in an organized manner, 16 CCTV cameras have been installed on the track route. Whose entire display is being closely monitored from the control room. The SSP said that in case of any kind of crowd, it can be managed quickly. He said that 65 CCTV cameras have been installed in the entire district to manage the yatra.
