Uttarakhand: Minor gave birth to a girl, the village youth had raped her, accused arrested
A surprising case has come to light from Champawat. Here a minor has given birth to a girl child. A youth from the village was raping the minor. Due to which she became pregnant. Police have arrested the accused.
Minor gave birth to a baby girl
A 17-year-old minor student from a village in Lohaghat block of Champawat district has given birth to a daughter in the hospital. The minor’s uncle has filed a complaint in Lohaghat police station that a youth from the village has raped the student. Lohaghat police have registered a case against the accused youth under section 376 of IPC including POCSO Act and arrested the accused today on Friday.
Was raping the student for a long time
SHO of Lohaghat police station, Ashok Kumar said that a minor girl student living in a village of Lohaghat area was being raped for a long time by a youth from the same village. After which the minor became pregnant. The minor girl gave birth to a daughter in a hospital in Champawat on Wednesday.
Accused arrested
SHO said that on the complaint of family members, a case was registered against the accused under section 376 of rape including POCSO. The accused has been arrested. The accused is being presented in the Honorable Court after getting his medical done. The case is being investigated by SI Anju Yadav.
