Fake currency racket busted in Uttarakhand, goldsmith arrested with fake notes
Lalkuan Kotwali police has busted the racket of fake notes. Police has arrested the kingpin goldsmith along with fake notes from whom police has recovered fake notes worth 9000 rupees. All the notes are of 500 denomination which is a total of 18 notes. Police is interrogating the accused. Police is hopeful of busting the nationwide fake note network.

Halduchaur Chowki was conducting daily checking campaign. During this time police was checking at Beripadh in Halduchaur Chowki area. Meanwhile police got information about fake notes. As soon as the information was received police became active and started investigation. Meanwhile police saw a black car number UKO4 AB-4842 coming in Halduchaur area, when they signaled to stop it, the youth sitting in the car sped away.
Goldsmith arrested with fake notes
Policeman chased the car with great difficulty and caught it. Along with this, the youth sitting in it was also arrested. On searching the youth, the police recovered fake notes worth 9000 rupees. It is being told that all the notes are of 500 rupees. The police also recovered a seal of Radherani Jewelers and a cheque book from the accused.
The accused goldsmith is a resident of Lalkuan
SP City Prakash Chandra Arya said that the arrested accused is Shivam Verma, son of Mahesh Chandra Verma, owner of Lalkuan Shivshakti Jewelers, who is the mastermind of this work. He told that the accused was questioned about where he brought the fake notes from and where he circulates them. So he told the police that he had brought the said fake notes from Ali Mohammad, resident of Hathikhan and his other partner Vinod, resident of Bindukhatta Khairani, to spend them in the market.
The police is searching for the absconding accused. He said that only after the arrest of the absconding accused, the nationwide fake note network is expected to be exposed. He told that it has been learned that a case has been registered against the accused in Baheri and its investigation is being done. Apart from this, his other criminal records are also being investigated.
