Uttarakhand: Here people were seen angry against the system! They boycotted the civic elections, only one vote was cast out of 400

In the Uttarakhand Municipal Corporation Election 2025, on one hand, while the State Election Commission is appealing to the people to vote as much as possible, on the other hand, people have boycotted the elections in some areas. One such case has come to light from Kesar Wala area of Dehradun Municipal Corporation. There are about 400 voters here, but even after noon, only one vote was cast.
People have boycotted the election in Kesar Wala of Dehradun Maldevta area. According to the local people, there are about 400 voters in this area, but only one person has cast that vote since morning. Local resident Deepu Kothari said that the people of Kesar Wala area are very angry. That is why they have decided to boycott the voting.
Deepu Kothari told that Kesar Wala has been added to the Dehradun Municipal Corporation without the consent of the local people. At the same time, after the inclusion of the Municipal Corporation, Kesar Wala did not get any facility. There has been a long-standing demand for street lights in the area, but till now no person from the Municipal Corporation has come to see here.
He said that anyway this is a rural area. There was no need to include it in the Municipal Corporation. Apart from this, the second issue is the road passing through the inner area of Kesar Wala area, which falls in the Cantt area. Local resident Deepu Kothari said that during the last election, when big leaders visited here, they had promised that this road will be made concrete, but it has not been made till now.
Apart from this, a tap passing through the middle of Kesar Wala area is also a reason for the displeasure of the people of the area. He said that this drain passes through the middle of the inhabited area of the area and also passes through the road, but till date no one has come to take care of it.
After this, people decided that not voting in the municipal elections is a better decision. He said that about 400 people were supposed to vote here, but only one or two people have voted. Those too are the people who have voted who now live outside here. They had come here only to vote.
