Uttarakhand: Pushkar Singh Dhami reviewed the Higher Education Department, instructed the officials to focus on skill development to connect the youth with employment

Special attention should be paid to increasing the attendance of students in the Higher Education Department. Vocational, entrepreneurship and employment oriented education should be promoted. After obtaining a degree from higher education, special attention should also be paid to skill development of the youth to connect them with employment. According to the requirement of human resources abroad, youth should be given training in foreign language as well as skill development. To provide skilled human resources from the state for employment abroad, training should be arranged according to the requirements of different countries by contacting foreign embassies. These instructions were given by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami to the officials during the review of the Higher Education Department in the Secretariat on Thursday.

The Chief Minister said that for quality and employment oriented education in higher education, professors should also be given training based on modern technology. Special attention should be paid to the availability of teaching aids to make teaching activities interesting. Along with adequate availability of books in the libraries of universities and colleges, proper arrangement of necessary equipment in laboratories should be ensured. Under the Bharat Darshan Yojana of the state government, meritorious students studying in universities and colleges should be taken on a tour of the major institutions of the country. Efforts should be made to bring maximum universities and colleges of the state in the NAAC grading system. According to the National Education Policy 2020, work should be done rapidly towards the upgradation of higher education in the state.

The Chief Minister said that to improve the future of children in higher education, the curriculum should be linked to innovation. For this, cooperation should also be taken from reputed institutions doing better work in the field of education. The e-library system should be strengthened so that books for competitive examinations and academic courses are easily and free of cost to the children. Professional courses should also be started in colleges. Higher Education Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat, Vice President Infrastructure Monitoring Council Vishwas Dabur, Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan, Principal Secretary R.K. Sudhanshu, R. Meenakshi Sundaram, Dr. Ranjit Sinha were present in the meeting.
