Meanwhile, Raqib, a youth from Haridwar in Uttarakhand, has been arrested from Bathinda in Punjab on charges of spying for Pakistan. He was working as a tailor in Bathinda military cantonment for the last four years.

Raqib was working as a tailor in Bathinda military cantonment for four years. Recently, his activities were found suspicious, after which he came on the radar of security agencies due to the vigilance of the army. During the search, numbers related to Pakistan’s intelligence agency and confidential documents related to the army have been recovered from his mobile.

Case registered against Raqib under various sections

Regarding the matter, Bathinda SP City Narinder Singh informed that the accused Raqib has been arrested by the Cantt Police on the complaint of the army. A case has been registered against him under various sections. Raqib’s mobile has been sent for forensic investigation. After getting the information, the intelligence teams of Haridwar are investigating Raqib’s background in depth.

Intelligence teams engaged in investigation

Interrogation is going on in Raqib’s village Roshni and surrounding areas to find out if he was a part of any network. After presenting Raqib in the court, he has been sent on three-day police remand. Agencies are trying to find out when and how he got connected to Pakistan, what information he leaked, and with whom he was in contact.

It is worth noting that even before this, on April 29, a person Suhail Kumbar was arrested from Bathinda military cantonment on charges of espionage, who was in contact with a Pakistani woman and was sending sensitive information of the army to her.
