Congress calls 11 years of Modi government as Jumla era, releases list of ‘failures’

Calling the 11 years of Modi government as “Jumla Kaal”, Congress has claimed that the country’s graph has fallen on the economy, governance, national security, democracy and employment front. In these 11 years, inflation in the country is skyrocketing, the lines of division in the society have deepened and Dalits, backward and minorities have been the target of Sangh-BJP.
Describing the last one year of Modi 3.0 government as a period of failures, Congress on Monday released a booklet and released a list of false promises. Along with this, the party also questioned Prime Minister Modi for not holding a single press conference so far during his tenure and challenged him to hold an open press conference.
‘Efforts to spread an atmosphere of fear are continuing’
Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, while issuing a statement on X Post on this occasion, said that BJP-RSS weakened every constitutional institution and attacked their autonomy. Whether it is to topple governments from the back door by stealing public opinion or forcibly implementing one-party dictatorship. During this period, the rights of the states have been ignored and the federal structure has weakened. Efforts to spread an atmosphere of hatred, threats and fear in the society are continuing.
Kharge alleged that the exploitation of Dalits, tribals, backward, minority and weaker sections has increased continuously. There is a conspiracy to deprive them of reservation and equal rights. The unending violence in Manipur is the biggest proof of BJP’s administrative failure.
Kharge lashed out at the NDA government
The Congress President, accusing the government of attacking democracy, said that the Modi government has wasted the last 11 years in rubbing the ink of dictatorship on every page of the Constitution. Kharge said that the BJP-RSS made the country’s GDP growth rate a habit of 5-6 percent, which used to be an average of eight percent during the UPA. Instead of fulfilling the promise of two crore jobs annually, crores of jobs were snatched from the youth. Due to inflation, the public’s savings have become the lowest in 50 years and economic inequality has become the highest in 100 years.
Kharge said that demonetisation, wrong GST, unplanned lock-down and hammering on unorganised sector ruined the future of crores of people, Make in India, Start Up India, Stand Up India, Digital India, Namami Gange, 100 smart cities all failed and ruined the railways. Only the ribbons of infrastructure built by Congress-UPA were cut. To claim 11 years of Jumla period, the party has mentioned those 20 election promises which were not fulfilled including doubling the income of farmers, bringing back black money from foreign countries, giving two crore jobs every year.
Challenge to hold a press conference
General Secretary of Congress Communication Department Jairam Ramesh took a dig at PM Modi by challenging him to hold an open press conference and said that the Prime Minister, who is celebrating completion of 11 years, is still “nine two eleven” from pre-scheduled press conferences without a script. Congress Research Department chief Rajeev Gowda held a press conference at the party office on this occasion and released a booklet containing the list of the failures of the government, claiming to expose its lies.
