Afghanistan’s Foreign Minister, Amir Khan Muttaqi, issued a stern warning to Pakistan from Delhi. He also sent a strong message to NATO countries, including the United States. He urged that no one should make the mistake of testing Afghanistan’s courage. He also advocated for better relations with India and expressed hope for positive cooperation from all countries. Meanwhile, India further strengthened its friendship with Afghanistan by gifting five ambulances. India is planning to provide 20 such ambulances to Afghanistan.
Muttaqi issued a stern warning to Pakistan
Muttaqi said at a press conference in Delhi, “Afghanistan wants good relations with all countries based on Islamic principles. India has a golden opportunity to move forward on this positive path. We hope that a balanced policy will inspire others.” He criticized Pakistan, referring to the recent border attack. He said, “The attack took place in a remote area of the border. We consider this action by Pakistan wrong. Issues cannot be resolved this way.” We have kept the door open for dialogue. Pakistan should resolve its issues on its own.
Muttaqi also sent a strong message to the US
Muttaqi stressed, “Afghanistan is on the path to peace and progress after 40 years. No one should be bothered by this. We are a free country. We want the world to respect our freedom and our path to peace. Don’t make the mistake of testing the courage of Afghans. Those who want to do so should ask the Soviet Union, the United States, and NATO. They can tell you that it is not right to play with Afghanistan.” He made it clear that Afghanistan will not tolerate any military intervention or the presence of outside forces. It should be noted that there were reports that US President Donald Trump wanted the Bagram airbase to be reinstated in Afghanistan.
Muttaqi’s major statement on Chabahar Port
Muttaqi described the Chabahar Port as a vital route for trade between India and Afghanistan and advocated for its opening. He said that India and Afghanistan should negotiate together to lift the sanctions imposed by the US. He said, “Chabahar Port is a good route. India and Afghanistan should work together to remove obstacles, as the US has imposed some restrictions. India and Afghanistan should engage with the US. Both countries need to use this route. All trade routes should be open. If the route is closed, it harms trade between India and Afghanistan.”
India Gifts 5 Ambulances to Afghanistan
On this occasion, India once again demonstrated its friendly attitude towards Afghanistan. External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar handed over 5 ambulances to Muttaqi, part of a gift of 20 ambulances. Jaishankar wrote on the social media platform X, “Today I handed over 5 ambulances to Foreign Minister Muttaqi. This is part of a gift of 20 ambulances and other medical equipment, reflecting India’s long-standing support to the Afghan people.”
