The Uttarakhand Graduate-Level Examination was held on September 21st. Following a paper leak, students launched a protest. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami ordered an investigation into the matter, responding to their demands. Today, the state government took a significant decision and canceled the exam.
The protesting students thanked the government for the cancellation. Chief Minister Dhami issued a statement saying, “For our government, our students and youth come first; we are serious about their future.”
What was the whole matter?
It’s worth noting that on September 21st, the UKSSSC conducted the graduate-level examination, three pages of which were leaked via WhatsApp just half an hour after the exam began. A person named Khalid Malik sent his papers to Assistant Professor Suman, and Khalid’s sister, Sabia, was also involved. Khalid and his sister, Sabia, are currently in judicial custody.
A movement had begun across the state
Following this, a movement had erupted across the state. For a long time, members of the unemployed organization had been staging a sit-in protest outside the Parade Ground in Dehradun. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami then visited the protest site after approximately eight days to meet with the students and urged them to initiate a CBI investigation. Following this, the state government wrote to the central government requesting a CBI inquiry. The students’ second demand was to cancel the exam and re-issue its roster. Today, an order was issued in this matter, canceling the exam.
Students expressed happiness
The investigation has now been handed over to the CBI. The cancellation of the exam has brought joy to the protesting students. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has once again stated that the youth of the state come first for him. He would even sacrifice his life for them.
