Three young men in a Thar SUV on the Chandigarh-Manali National Highway filled up with diesel at a petrol pump and fled the scene after showing a fake transaction. However, due to the quick thinking of the petrol pump employees and the vigilance of the Pandoh police outpost, one of the men has been apprehended, while the other two are still at large. The incident took place at a petrol pump in Nagwain, Mandi district.

On Tuesday evening, at around 3:45 PM, a Thar SUV, number HR 51 CU 6812, coming from the Chandigarh side, stopped at the petrol pump. The men in the Thar filled up with diesel worth Rs. 3510 and immediately fled towards Kullu after showing a fake transaction. Their intention in heading towards Kullu was to mislead, as they later took a U-turn and started driving back towards Chandigarh. The petrol pump employee, realizing the transaction was fake, informed the owner and started chasing them on a motorcycle. He informed the owner about their U-turn. The owner then informed the Aut police station team.

The police had set up a roadblock ahead, but the culprits broke through it and sped away. The Pandoh police outpost team was then informed. The Pandoh police team set up another roadblock near Kanchi Mod. Seeing the second police roadblock, the culprits turned their vehicle towards the riverbank. It is reported that two of the men abandoned their companion near the vehicle and fled. The police team reached the vehicle and took one young man into custody, while the search for the other two is ongoing. The owner of the vehicle is someone else and is currently in Uttar Pradesh.

It is reported that the police have contacted the other two accused, and they are repeatedly saying they will come to the scene. SP Mandi Sakshi Verma confirmed the incident. She stated that the police are investigating the matter.
