A major incident has come to light from Haldwani. A man from Kashipur in Udham Singh Nagar district committed suicide by shooting himself in a hotel in the Kathgodam police station area. Nainital police have launched an investigation after a video of the deceased went viral on social media. In the video, the deceased accused the Udham Singh Nagar SSP and several property dealers of being involved in a multi-crore land scam.
Farmer Shoots Himself in Hotel
Sukhwant Singh (40) committed suicide by shooting himself in a hotel in Gaulapar, Haldwani. The incident has caused a stir in the area. Before committing suicide, Sukhwant Singh made serious allegations against police officers, including Udham Singh Nagar SSP Manikant Mishra, in a Facebook video. In the video, Sukhwant said that the police were harassing him for money and putting pressure on him, which had caused him immense mental distress.
Sukhwant was under mental stress: Father
Sukhwant Singh’s father said that his son had been suffering from mental stress for a long time after an alleged land fraud of approximately Rs 4 crore in the Kashipur area. It is alleged that he took this suicidal step due to being cheated by property dealers and pressure from the police.
Sukhwant was staying in the hotel with his wife and children
According to reports, Sukhwant Singh was staying in a hotel in Gaulapar with his wife and child. Late at night, his wife suddenly got injured and started screaming. During this commotion, she and her son fled the room. After this, Sukhwant shot himself and committed suicide. Upon receiving information about the incident, the police reached the spot and took the body into custody and sent it for post-mortem.
Nainital Police investigating the case
Regarding the matter, SSP Manjunath TC said that the police are investigating the entire case. The statements of the wife and son have been recorded. The deceased has also left a suicide note for his wife, in which he has made serious allegations against the Udham Singh Nagar SSP, the police team, and property dealers.
Pre-death video goes viral
In a video message, the deceased requested a CBI inquiry into his death and demanded that the culprits be given strict punishment. A video recorded by the deceased before his death has also surfaced on social media and is being investigated. Action will be taken based on the family’s complaint.
Udham Singh Nagar Police under scrutiny
Following the emergence of this case, the Udham Singh Nagar police have also come under scrutiny, as questions are being raised about why the police, instead of taking action after the multi-crore fraud, pressured the victim, ultimately leading him to take such a drastic step as suicide. The biggest question is, who is truly responsible for Sukhwant Singh’s death?
