Uttarakhand: Ankita Bhandari case; SIT investigation to proceed further after statements from Suresh and Urmila, both questioned for hours

After lengthy questioning of former MLA Suresh Rathore and actress Urmila Sanawar in connection with the audio clip that went viral in the Ankita Bhandari case, the SIT (Special Investigation Team) will now proceed with its investigation. The evidence provided by Urmila, including her mobile phone, will be sent for examination.
The political climate heated up after BJP leader Dushyant Kumar Gautam’s name surfaced in the audio clip that Urmila Sanawar had shared on social media. A report was filed against Suresh Rathore and Urmila at the Bahadrabad police station in connection with the case. Later, an FIR was registered at the Jhabrera police station. Considering the cases registered in Haridwar district, SSP Pramendra Singh Dobal constituted an SIT. After remaining underground, both of them surfaced after nine days.
On Thursday, the SIT questioned Urmila for about five and a quarter hours and collected evidence. On Friday, Suresh Rathore was questioned for five and a half hours. Now, after recording the statements of both individuals, the SIT has initiated further action.
