Number of pilgrims on the Char Dham Yatra rising; pilgrims praise the Dhami government for the arrangements

The number of pilgrims visiting Uttarakhand for the Char Dham Yatra is steadily increasing, and the pilgrims appear satisfied with the arrangements made for the pilgrimage. Under the directives of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, the pilgrimage is being conducted with vigilance and close monitoring, prioritizing the safety of the devotees.

Meera Patel, Mayor of the Gandhinagar Municipal Corporation in Gujarat, has expressed her gratitude to the Uttarakhand government and the local administration for the support extended during the three-day ‘Maha Vishnu Yajna’ held at Badrinath Dham and the subsequent visit to Kedarnath Dham.

In a letter of appreciation sent to the Chief Minister, the Mayor mentioned that her family organized the three-day Maha Vishnu Yajna at Badrinath Dham from September 6 to 8, 2026. Following this, a group of 188 pilgrims from Gujarat visited Kedarnath Dham; the group included a large number of senior citizens.

She stated that with the cooperation of the Uttarakhand government, local administration, and relevant organizers, the pilgrims were able to have a smooth, safe, and well-organized darshan (viewing of the deity) at both shrines. She described the support and warmth received during the journey as a testament to Uttarakhand’s tradition of ‘Atithi Devo Bhava’ (treating the guest as God).

Meera Patel commended the efforts being made by the state government and the administration to provide better facilities for pilgrims arriving from various states across the country. She also prayed to Lord Badri-Kedar for the happiness, prosperity, peace, and continuous progress of Uttarakhand.
