Heavy snowfall continues in disaster-hit Joshimath. Several feet of snow has fallen in the city. Where on one hand the cold has increased due to snowfall, on the other hand the problems of the people sitting on the dharna have increased. People are seen taking support of the bonfire. Mussoorie, the queen of mountains, is also covered with a white sheet of snow.
Snowfall increased people’s problems
It should be noted that since this morning, it is snowing heavily in Joshimath and its surrounding areas. The hills of Joshimath have become covered with snow due to snowfall. Along with this, a significant drop in temperature is being recorded due to snowfall, due to which people are shying away from coming out of the houses, while there are huge cracks in the houses due to landslides, which are increasing continuously. On the other hand, after the landslide in Joshimath city, work is being done to demolish those buildings which had cracks. At the same time, CM Pushkar Singh Dhami himself is reviewing the situation in Joshimath. On Thursday, January 19, Cabinet Minister Satpal Maharaj reached Joshimath and did an on-the-spot inspection of the situation. During this, he assured the people of all possible help.
Season’s first snowfall in Mussoorie
There is an atmosphere of happiness among the people due to the first snowfall of the season in Mussoorie, the queen of mountains. People’s faces blossomed due to light snowfall in the morning. On the other hand, in the high altitude areas around Mussoorie, there has been heavy snowfall in Buranskhanda, Suvakholi, Surkanda Devi, Dhanaulti, Nagtibba etc. Due to which a lot of enthusiasm is being seen among the people. There is a wave of happiness among the people of Mussoorie due to the first snowfall of the season in Mussoorie. Mussoorie was waiting for snowfall for a long time. In such a situation, due to light snowfall in the morning, there is hope of snowfall in Mussoorie. After the snowfall, a huge drop in temperature has been recorded, due to which the cold has increased. To avoid the cold, people are resorting to warm clothes and bonfires. The Meteorological Department has also expressed the possibility of snowfall and rain in the high altitude areas in the next two days. The district administration is also alerted by the forecast of the Meteorological Department. In view of the snowfall in Mussoorie and surrounding areas, the district administration has instructed all concerned officials to remain alert. So that the tourists coming to Mussoorie from India and abroad do not face any kind of problem. An action plan has also been made by the police regarding the traffic system.

Uttarakhand Meteorological Department has predicted rain and snowfall in many places of Uttarkashi, Chamoli and Pithoragarh districts of the state. At the same time, there is a possibility of rain in other hilly and plain districts of the state. Along with this, the Meteorological Department had expressed the possibility of snowfall in areas above 2500 meters, which has proved to be true. On the other hand, it will be partly cloudy in the capital Dehradun today.
