Haryana: BJP leader raped a girl in Ambala, contested assembly elections in 2019 on Aam Aadmi Party ticket

BJP leader Anshul Agarwal was arrested on Thursday on charges of rape in Haryana’s Ambala district. It is alleged that after getting pregnant after the rape, the girl was aborted twice. Anshul Agarwal has contested the assembly elections in 2019 on Aam Aadmi Party ticket. However, later he joined BJP. The police have also registered a case against the doctor who aborted the girl. On Thursday, the police arrested the accused BJP leader and sent him to Ambala Central Jail.
In the complaint submitted to the police, the victim had alleged that she had met the leader on 3 April 2021. At that time he was looking for a job. The accused had released an advertisement in OLX, stating that girls were required to do office work. She went for interview in Anshul Agarwal’s office. Anshul had kept it for billing. The girl alleges that it was only 10 days while she was working that Anshul Aggarwal offered friendship in front of her, however, she had rejected it at first, but the accused kept proposing again and again.
Raped after being called to a hotel on the pretext of work
The girl alleges that she was called to the hotel on the pretext of work. The accused forcibly made physical relations in the hotel. When the girl started crying, the accused assured of marriage. Not only this, the accused also filled vermilion in his demand. Thereafter, the accused continued to have physical relations with her. According to the victim, she became pregnant in 2021. Anshul got her aborted by Dr. Vinod, who is near his office. The girl alleges that she was aborted for the second time on March 8, 2022.
Anshul Agarwal contested the Vidhansabha-2019 election from Ambala City on the seat of Aam Aadmi Party, in which Anshul got only 868 votes. After this, in the presence of local MLA Aseem Goyal, he joined the BJP. Women’s station in-charge Surindra Kaur told that the accused has been arrested and sent to jail. The woman has been accused of rape and forced abortion. In this case, a case under 120B has also been registered against Dr. Vinod.
