Not just one but 18 Ram temples are present in Uttarakhand, at some places Lord’s feet are there and at some places he did penance.
There is not one but 18 Ram temples of Lord Ram in Devbhoomi Uttarakhand. Out of which 10 temples are in Garhwal division and eight temples are in Kumaon division. While there is the historical Raghunath Temple in Devprayag where Lord Ram had performed penance, there is the Ramshila Temple located in Almora where Lord Ram’s Charan Paduka is situated.
There are 10 Ram temples present in Garhwal division
There are 10 temples of Lord Ram in Garhwal division. Out of which six temples are located in Haridwar district only. Shri Ram Temple located at Bhupatwala in Haridwar is about 125 years old. Along with this, a Ram temple is also located in Roorkee. There are two temples of Lord Ram in Kher village of Barkot tehsil and Gangatadi in Uttarkashi district. But there is no accurate information about the establishment of these temples. Along with this, Raghunath temple is also in Garhwal division.
There are eight Ram temples in Kumaon division
Whereas eight temples of Lord Ram are located in Kumaon division. Three Ram temples are located in Nainital district of Kumaon division. Out of which one is located in Haldwani, one in Ramnagar and one in Garmpani. There is a Ram temple established by the Chandra kings in Almora. This temple has the feet of Lord Rama. There are two major temples of Ram in Champawat district. Similarly, Lord Ram’s temple is also present in Thakurdwara of Bageshwar district and Gangoli of Pithoragarh district.

Lord Ram did penance here (Devprayag Raghunath Temple)
Lord Ram performed his last penance in Devprayag, Uttarakhand. This beautiful place is now known as a famous pilgrimage site. Devprayag is situated at the confluence of Alaknanda-Bhagirathi rivers. Devprayag Devbhoomi is one of the Panch Prayags of Uttarakhand. A grand temple, Raghunath Temple, has been established at the place where Lord Rama had performed penance.

The Charan Padukas of Lord Rama are present in the Ramshila Temple located in Almora district. Here the stone feet of Lord Rama can be seen. This temple was established by King Rudrachand in the year 1588 in Malla Mahal of Almora. It is said that the history of this temple is more than 400 years old.
