The Uttarakhand government is emphasizing on promoting the culture of the state. In this sequence, the Uttarakhand government has decided that work will be done towards digitization of the dialects, folk tales, folk songs and literature of the state. An e-library will also be created for this. Along with increasing the collection based on folk tales, audio visuals will also be made on them. Speech, essay and other competitions on local dialect language should be organized in schools once every week. A festival of Uttarakhand language and literature should be organized on a large scale, in which litterateurs from all over the country will be invited. The state government has decided that a linguistic map of the dialects of Uttarakhand will be made.

In fact, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami held a meeting of the General Assembly and Management Executive Committee of Uttarakhand Bhasha Sansthan in the Secretariat on Monday. It was decided in the meeting that the amount of Uttarakhand Sahitya Gaurav Samman will be increased from Rs 5 lakh to Rs 5 lakh 51 thousand. Long Term Sahitya Sevak Samman will also be given by the state government, whose honorarium will be Rs 5 lakh.

A Yuva Kalamkar competition will be organized to encourage young writers towards the official language Hindi. In this, young writers of 18 to 24 and 25 to 35 years will be included in two categories. Along with arranging mobile libraries in remote areas of the state, it was agreed to take the help of big publishers to provide books and literature related to all subjects to the readers. Bhasha Sansthan will work towards promoting local dialects by preparing short videos to increase the interest of children towards folk languages.

It was decided in the meeting that to preserve the Pandavani singing ‘Bakna’ prevalent in Jaunsar Bawar area since ancient times, it will be documented. Uttarakhand Bhasha Sansthan will conduct a complete literature collection of famous dramatist ‘Govind Ballabh Pant’, a collection of literature published in various newspapers and magazines of India 50 to 100 years ago by writers of Uttarakhand and research projects for the preservation and study of high Himalayan and tribal languages ​​of Uttarakhand. 02 Sahitya Grams will be built in the state for literary creation amidst nature, seminars and discussions among litterateurs.

During the meeting, Language Minister Subodh Uniyal said that in the last three years, many new initiatives have been taken by the Language Institute in Uttarakhand. Along with the preservation and promotion of languages, rapid efforts are being made to promote local dialects. Many awards are being given by the state government to encourage people towards language. The Chief Minister has appealed to the people of the state to promote the practice of books instead of bouquets as gifts in the state.
